Loretta Hieber Girardet appreciates Mongolia's effort in disaster risk reduction

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg met the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction 's (UNISDR) Chief of Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific Loretta Hieber Girardet on January 23.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the UNISDR for consistently supporting Mongolia in direction of reducing disaster risks.
Disaster risk reduction is reflected in the sustainable development goal- 2030, considered as an important part of it. Ms.B.Battsetseg underlined that Mongolia tries to contribute to regional disaster risk reduction and hosting the 2nd Asian Ministerial Conference of Disaster Risk Reduction in Ulaanbaatar on July 16-19, 2018 is a proof of Mongolia's commitment. The Deputy Minister said the Ministry will give all kinds of support to preparation works and organizing the conference.
In her turn, Mrs. Loretta Hieber Girardet thanked Mongolia for its high appreciation of the activities and contributions of the UNISDR. She then noted that Mongolia’s actions towards reducing disaster risk is exemplary in the region.
Moreover, Mrs. Loretta Hieber Girardet expressed gratitude to the Mongolian state for attaching big importance to preparation work of the 2nd Asian Ministerial Conference of Disaster Risk Reduction.
