The first stage selection was held on May 6, selecting a total of 209 works in which 40 oil paint works and eight  cartoon works and two works from Mongolia are included. It is one of the most significant international exhibitions organized by the Taiwanese Government. This time, artists from over 40 countries submitted 1390 works to the exhibition.

Head of the Representative Office of Taiwan in Mongolia Huang Kuo Jung said " To be selected in the semi-final is like winning a prize. I had no doubt that Mongolian artists would be selected in the semi-final, because Mongolia has a rich cultural heritage. Nomadic culture, lifestyle and tradition are what makes development of Mongolian culture distinctive from others.

The winners will be announced in late May.
