Exhibition of Mongolian and Taiwanese artists opens
Art & CultureUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A joint exhibition of 11 Mongolian and Taiwanese artists within the ‘Is/In land’ exchange program for contemporary artists opened at the Art Space 976 on October 12.
The artists expressed the economic, social, political, environmental and ethical matters arising from territory issues through their works. The landlocked Mongolia is 53 times larger than the island of Taiwan, but its population is 7.7 times lower and the living standard differs. Despite the differences, Mongolia and Taiwan are facing the same environmental challenges, artists highlighted.
Before the Ulaanbaatar exhibition, Taiwanese artists had done some research in rural areas of Mongolia.
As reported previously, a joint exhibition within the project was displayed at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts in Taipei from July 20 to September 23.
The project is aimed at connecting young artists, giving them opportunity to discuss the professional issues, while exploring the unfamiliar countries and cultures, noted the project curator Takamori Nobuo.
