'Golden Treasure' wins award at FLO Film Forum

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the ‘FLO Film Forum’ international
filmmakers’ forum, being held in India on November 14-16, the ‘International
Achiever’ award went to Mongolian artist U.Uranchimeg for her work on ‘Atgand
Uldsen Erdene’ (Golden Treasure) film. Ms. Uranshimeg wrote, directed and
starred in the film.
The storyline shows a girl who was raised in a manner of a man by her wrestler
father, who desperately wants a son, but instead has four daughters. The father’s wish was caused by the social pressure to have sons as a wrestler, the
symbol for masculinity. Thus, the story touches upon gender equality and human
rights issues in a way.
