Mongolian stone-2019 exhibition running

The Mongolian stone-2019 exhibition was opened at the Central Museum of Mongolian Dinosaurs on January 18. Some 40 specimens and samples taken from mineral deposits in Mongolia, which are being preserved in ‘Stone Treasury’ of Mineral Resources Information Technology Center of the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority, are displayed to the public for the first time.

The Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority, Mongolian Colored Gemstone Association are jointly organizing the exhibition for the 3rd year together with Mongolian stone collectors, individuals and entities.

There are many interesting works displayed at the exhibition including a turtle family carved with moss agate stone by L.Bayanmunkh, mini-sized version of dinosaur skeleton made of jade by Enkhiinyosonbaatar as well as a carving of the painting ‘One Day of Mongolia’ by famous artist so-called facetious Sharav on blue chalcedony created by Ts.Luvsandash. 

During the opening, meeting and discussion of stone collectors and selection of the best stone made works and the best sample were held as well as stone works’ fair was conducted involving individuals and entities who run stone production and services.

The exhibition will be open until January 31 at the Central Museum of Mongolian Dinosaurs.
