The set of 5 tools

Arkhangai /MONTSAME/. This particular set of 5 tools was previously used by L.Jambatseren, the 6th Khalkh Zay bandid khutagt Luvsantuvdenchoijinnyam /1905-1930/. Consisting of a tweezer for moustache, nail clipper, earwax remover, tongue scraper, nail cleaner, and needle case, the tool set is stored in an iron case.
The tools used for beauty as well as hygiene is from the period between the late 19th century and the early 20th century. The set of tools were made with iron, wood, rawhide, and silk.
Mongolians traditionally carried the tool set by either hanging it on the button area of their deels and putting it inside the upper flap or hanging it on their right hip. Although the tool set varies depending on the person’s gender, it generally consists of a tweezer, tongue scraper, earwax remover, toothpick, and nail cleaner.
