Regional training held for supporting capacities of human resource managers

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. UNDP Mongolia and the Civil Service Council’s ‘Towards a Professional and Citizen Centred Civil Service in Mongolia’ project funded by the Government of Canada organized a regional training on ‘Integrated capacity building: Strengthening Ethic Councils and Supporting capacities of Human Resources managers’ in Zavkhan aimag on November 11.


Civil Service Councils and Ethics Councils of Government agencies of the Western region, including Bayan-Ulgii, Govi-Altai, Uvs & Khovd aimags participated in the workshop.


B. Bayarsaikhan, Member of Parliament elected from Zavkhan aimag and member of the Ethics and Discipline Parliament Standing Committee, shared his remarks for the workshop and highlighted that a discussion on the Code of Ethics of Parliament members is ongoing. Additionally, B.Baatarzorig, Chair of the Civil Service Council and National Project Director, encouraged participating civil servants to represent and further disseminate ethical civil service values. Governor of Zavkhan aimag D.Tuvshinjargal stressed, “Support is needed for Civil service reforms. Trainings and awareness raising activities for civil servants are especially crucial”.




Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Mongolia Catherine Ivkoff presented on the Civil service values and principles in Canada.


UNDP Resident Representative Ms.Elaine Conkievch closed the workshop by adding that “One of the main functions of Human Resource managers in the Civil Service is the recruitment. Applying integrated capacity building will enable the selection of civil servants who fully meet job requirements”.


The workshop is being held for two days to build capacities and knowledge on preventing of ethics misconducts of Ethics councils and Civil Service Human Resource managers, and share insights and innovative approaches to identifying, assessing and further expanding integrated skill sets of civil servants.
