Cabinet meeting in brief

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. At its regular meeting on December
14, the Cabinet discussed the following issues.
- To implement a parliamentary resolution No. 92 of 2019 on
‘Ensuring Mongolia's interests in the development of the Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold
deposit, the Government’s Working Group is continuing its talks with the
investor of Oyu Tolgoi LLC. Minister of Justice and Home Affairs Kh.Nyambaatar
briefed the Cabinet on the progress of the talks. A decision was made to
collaborate with the Parliamentary Temporary Committee.
-The Cabinet instructed to develop a draft parliamentary resolution
on the establishment of the Khushig Valley Free Economic Zone within this month
and bring it into a discussion at the Cabinet meeting.
- A draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry
of Mining and Heavy Industry and Rosneft as well as the fuel supply activities
at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport were introduced.
- During the period between December 8 and December 13,
2021, a total of 1,469 cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded, showing a
decrease of 786 cases compared to the previous week. The coverage of 1st dose
has reached 70 percent, 2nd dose – 66 percent and 3rd dose or a booster shot of
COVID-19 vaccines – 25 percent of the total population.
