“If Only I Could Hibernate” Nominated for the Cannes Film Festival

Ulaanbaatar, April 14, 2023 /MONTSAME/. Mongolian film “If Only I Could Hibernate” has been nominated for the “Un Certain Regard” selection of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
“If Only I Could Hibernate”, directed by P. Zoljargal, a
producer of “Amigdala Films”, became the first Mongolian film that has ever
been nominated for this Festival.
Created in 1978 as a parallel section of the Cannes Film
Festival, “Un Certain Regard” features bold and innovative films of established
directors, as well as emerging talents.
The plot of “If Only I Could Hibernate” involves a teenage boy who lives in ger district and his efforts for a better life based on his interest in physics. Moreover, the film has tackled various pressing issues of Ulaanbaatar city and the sensitivity of the director to those issues.
