Ulaanbaatar, November 9, 2023 /MONTSAME. Enkhtuvshin Dashtseren, President of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), provided further details to the media regarding the discussion of a Revised Draft Law on the Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Cabinet and its decision to submit it to the State Great Khural.

"Last week, the Cabinet met with representatives of enterprises to discuss cooperation opportunities. During the meeting, it was emphasized that there is a need to strengthen the capacity of non-governmental organizations, unite the private sector under a single organization, and reduce the government's involvement in the economy. In this context, it was decided to revise the Law on Chamber of Commerce and Industry," said Enkhtuvshin Dashtseren, President of the MNCCI.

"Enacted in 1995, the Law on Chamber of Commerce has undergone several revisions to make it more professional. According to the triennial survey, the top business environment concerns are taxation, credit availability and interest rates, professional workforce availability and stability, and lack of coordination between government organizations and the corruption and bureaucracy arising in the society.  The Government was performing functions that could be performed by the private sector. If the Draft Law is approved, solutions to the aforementioned problems might be found," he emphasized.
