Mongolian Customs to collect MNT 2.2 trillion for State budget

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mongolian Customs collected MNT 1.8 trillion to the State budget in 2017. As for 2018, the Mongolian Customs is setting an aim to allocate MNT 2.2 trillion to the State budget.
Since January, 2018, the Mongolian Customs has halted attempts to smuggle chemical substances and drug into Mongolia and transferred the case to the relevant organization to investigate. Last year, the Mongolian Customs detected 2078 breaches, of which 128 were criminal case. In connection to this, it imposed penalty amounted to MNT 1.5 billion and a tax worth MNT 1.9 billion was re-paid.
The Mongolian Customs expanded its cooperation with the Chinese and Russian Customs in 2017. In relation, they have been closely cooperating in direction of exchanging information on preventing from customs breaches.
