Director of the Clingendael Academy Awarded the Order of Polar Star of Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, May 15, 2025 / MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa decreed to confer the Order of Polar Star of Mongolia to Director of the Clingendael Academy of the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael, Professor Ron Ton, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael.
On May 13, 2025, non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Netherlands Bold Luvsanvandan presented the Order to Director of Clingendael Academy Ron Ton. Professor Ron Ton initiated and launched a hybrid training programme for junior diplomats from Central Asia and Mongolia. To date, the project has successfully trained over 120 Mongolian diplomats in its fellowship program.
Ambassador Bold Luvsanvandan congratulated Director Ron Ton on receiving the Order of the Polar Star of Mongolia and highlighted that young Mongolian diplomats who graduated from the Clingendael Academy’s hybrid training programme are now working successfully in their field in Mongolia.
Professor Ron Ton expressed gratitude for being awarded the State decoration of Mongolia. He emphasized that the programme has been implemented effectively and continuously over the past 30 years and expressed confidence that the cooperation would continue in the future.
