Ulaanbaatar, May 19, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 37th National Book Festival, organized by the “Nomyn Soyolt Yurtunts” NGO, was successfully held on May 16-18, 2025, under the theme “Let’s Read More.” This year's Festival highlighted 50 notable books focused on nature and ecology, comprising both Mongolian works and translated publications.

For three days, people across the country immersed themselves in books, exploring new publications, rare editions, works by domestic authors, and translated literature, while also engaging with writers and creators. The Book Festival aims at cultivating a reading culture, encouraging a positive attitude toward books, and promoting public literacy by supporting authors, publishers, and active readers.

B. Suvd, Journalist, Bibliographer, Editor-in-Chief of "Nomyn Yurtunts" Magazine, and the founder of the National Book Festival, remarked, “This year marks the sixth release of our recommended reading list. For the 2025-2026 academic year, we have curated a special list of 50 notable books focused on nature and ecology, comprising both Mongolian and translated works. We will be launching reading and creative writing competitions based on these titles, and we encourage students from general education schools to actively participate and become good friends with books. We have also partnered with ‘My Club,’ an environmental youth group, for the upcoming school year.”

D. Serdaram, Lecturer at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology and Founder of “My Club,” stated, “It is heartening to see so many young people who love reading participating in this Festival. Together with the “Nomyn Yurtunts” Magazine, we carefully selected a list of 50 environmental and ecological titles after many discussions. The list includes some truly fascinating books. I encourage everyone to read these works and share what they learn with others. “My Club” has been promoting tree planting and environmental awareness among youth for over two decades.”

Since the 35th National Book Festival, the “Nomyn Soyolt Yurtunts” NGO has launched the “Friendship Program” to enhance international cooperation, particularly with foreign publishers. As a result, the 37th Festival welcomed authors and publishers from the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, and the Republic of Korea.

This year’s Festival was held under the auspices of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, and co-organized by the Office of the President, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth, the Governor’s Office of the Capital City, the Department of Culture and Arts of Ulaanbaatar City, and the “Nomyn Soyolt Yurtunts” NGO.

Notably, the 38th National Book Festival is scheduled for September 19-21, 2025.
