432 Students Studied in Japan through “JDS” Human Resource Development Scholarship

August 13, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The send-off ceremony for the
24th cohort of Master’s and the 9th cohort for Doctoral students under the “JDS”
Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship was held at the Ambassador’s
Residence.
The goal
of the grant aid scholarship program, established in 1999, is to educate competent
leaders of the future in Japan, enabling them to contribute their knowledge and
skills to the socio-economic development of their homeland after graduation.
The “JDS”
scholarship program is implemented across over 20 Southeast Asian countries,
with more than 6,000 youth studying in Japan. Out of the total of 432 Mongolian
students who have gained education in Japan through the program, which
commenced in 2001 in Mongolia, 389 students, having completed Master’s and 7 Doctoral
programs, are currently working in various sectors such as governmental
organizations and the Bank of Mongolia.
Through
the JDS program, a total of 14 students will study within the 24th cohort of
Master’s programs, namely 2 students at Saitama University, 2 at International
University of Japan, 3 at Meiji University, 2 at the National Graduate Institute
for Policy Studies, 2 at Hiroshima University, 1 at Rikkyo University, and 2 at
Nagoya University. As for the 9th cohort of Doctorate programs, which commenced
in 2016, one student will study at the University of Tsukuba.
The students of the JDS scholarship program will return to their home country, where they will contribute to the national productive workforce, as well as to enhancing mutual understanding and friendly relations between the two countries.
