Ulaanbaatar, September 15, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The National Agency for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring, in cooperation with the E-Mongolia Academy, has begun delivering alerts about hazardous and extreme weather events promptly through the E-Mongolia app’s notification system.

This initiative supports the call by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, who has urged all countries to establish low-cost, reliable early warning systems to protect every person on Earth from climate-, water-, and weather-related hazards by the end of 2027.

Studies show that providing weather hazard warnings at least 24 hours in advance can reduce potential risks by up to 30 percent. The national meteorological agency aims to swiftly deliver early warnings through all available channels, working in close partnership with both government and private sectors.

Starting with version E-Mongolia 5.0, users will receive updates on seasonal floods, droughts, air pollution levels, and access to archived weather data.
