Ulaanbaatar, November 3, 2025 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa visited Darkhan-Uul aimag on October 31, 2025, to assess the progress of the national “White Gold” program and inspect local producers that have received preferential loans through the initiative.

The president’s visit included site inspections of Darkhan Nekhii JSC, Timeless LLC, and Khatan Iveel Khairkhan LLC.

The White Gold program aims to enhance the value of livestock-sourced raw materials by supporting domestic production and promoting exports. As part of this initiative, the Darkhan-Uul Aimag Department of Agriculture and Rural Development conducted a comprehensive survey of light industry enterprises focusing on those involved in wool, cashmere, and processing. Currently, 300 enterprises are active in the light industry sector across the aimag.

Of the 27 companies operating in the leather, wool, and cashmere sectors that applied to banks, financial institutions, and the guarantee fund for inclusion in the “White Gold” program, six have been approved for loans totaling MNT 29.41 billion.

Notably, Darkhan Nekhii JSC, which specializes in wool and fur processing, leather treatment, and garment manufacturing, received MNT 15.54 billion to expand its operations. Other recipients include:

  • Darkhan Minj LLC, a leather processing company, which received MNT 11.9 billion;
  • Darkhan Sakhi LLC, a leather goods producer, which received MNT 250 million;
  • Khatan Iveel Khairkhan LLC, a manufacturer of leather clothing and footwear, which received MNT 350 million;
  • Timeless LLC, a felt products company, received MNT 235 million.

Founded in 1972, Darkhan Nekhii JSC has utilized its loans for investment and working capital under the White Gold program. The company has completed the installation of upgraded production equipment, marking the revival of pressed leather production for the first time since Mongolia transitioned to a democratic system and market economy in the early 1990s.

Following its participation in the program, Khatan Iveel Khairkhan LLC has increased its production capacity by 50 percent. Its Hunnu Mur brand shoe factory now produces up to 150 pairs of shoes daily and 4,000 pairs monthly.

Established in 2007, Timeless LLC focuses on manufacturing and exporting felt products while promoting employment and introducing Mongolian felt craftsmanship to international markets. The company has collaborated with Norway’s Tova – a producer of wool felt products – for 19 years, exporting between 25,000 and 30,000 felt slippers, insoles, and related items annually. It currently operates in the 15th village of Darkhan soum, employing over 50 people.

The central goal of the White Gold program is to boost the production of competitive, high-quality, value-added products that meet international standards, thereby enhancing exports and increasing the value of Mongolia’s livestock-sourced raw materials.
