The six Gobi animals namely wild Bactrian camel, Gobi bear, Takhi (Przewalski's horse), Khulan (wild ass), Goitered Gazelle and Saiga Antelope play crucial roles in Gobi region ecosystem. In recent years, Gobi-Altai aimag has been implementing bigger projects and events in direction of preserving nature and protecting animals, for instance, project on protecting Mazaalai (Gobi bear) and relocating Saiga Antelope and Przewalski’s wild horses.  In relation, good results have been observed.
