MP T.Ayursaikhan meets heads of mission to Mongolia

/MONTSAME/ On December 16, MP, Head of the parliamentary standing committee on security and foreign
policy T.Ayursaikhan met with the heads of diplomatic and consular missions in
Mongolia.
At the
beginning of the meeting, MP T.Ayursaikhan noted that the meeting is aimed at
providing information on some activities of the Parliament as well as the
standing committee as the year is coming to an end. He thus informed
the ambassadors and consuls general on the measures being taken in the wake of
Mongolia coming under the observation of the Financial Action Task Force (FAFT),
amendments to the constitution of Mongolia, and the parliamentary
resolution aimed at protecting the rights and interests of Mongolian people in
the exploitation of Oyu Tolgoi deposit.
Expressing their willingness to support the removal of Mongolia from the FATF grey list, the heads of diplomatic mission to Mongolia made inquiries on the constitutional amendments. In particular, they received more information from MP T.Ayursaikhan and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren on the provisions regarding judiciary and exploitation of natural resources as well as what electoral system is proposed for the 2020 parliamentary election.
