Camel gives birth to twins in Khovd aimag

Khovd /MONTSAME/. A six-year old female camel gave birth to twins in Jargalant soum, Khovd aimag on April 09. The newborn camels and the mother are in good health. In other regions of Khovd aimag, camels gave birth to rare twins and triplets in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
Mongolian herders believe that camel giving birth to twins is a sign of good times ahead.
The latest nationwide livestock census had 472.4 thousand heads of camel counted in Mongolia out of its 70.9 million livestock animals, as of December 2019.
