Environmentally friendly young leaders to be developed

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Marco Ferri, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to
Mongolia, has visited Khovd aimag.
On October 26, Marco Ferri together with a working group of the ‘Mongolia
ecology center’ NGO held a meeting with authorities and corresponding specialists of Khovd aimag, including T.Delgersaikhan,
Deputy Governor of Khovd aimag, and Director of the Department of Education
B.Altangerel.
General education schools of Mankhan and Munkhkhairkhan soums of Khovd
aimag are taking part in the ‘Youth Sustainable Development Corps’ program being implemented through co-financing from ‘Mongolian
Ecology Center’ NGO and the European Union. The sides discussed and exchanged
views on the works done and further cooperation in the framework of the
program.
The program aims at collaborating with students in remote soums through
listening their problems and concerns and supporting their opinions and suggestions,
as well as helping the students grow up loving and protecting local national
parks. For this purpose, ‘Student Development Hall’, which is provided with modern
equipment, furniture, books, manuals and internet, has been established in
Mankhan and Munkhkhairkhan soums.
Local authorities
undertook to support the program and put emphasis on developing environmentally
friendly leaders.
