Conservation Trust Fund Established in MongoliaSociety
Ulaanbaatar, July 10, 2023 /MONTSAME/. On the sidelines of the “Mongolia Economic Forum-2023,” the Ministry of Environment and Tourism announced that The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is launching a Conservation Trust Fund in Mongolia.
This Fund is established in alignment with the green development goal of the New Revival Policy, which is being implemented by the Government of Mongolia. The purpose of the fund is to create and manage a sustainable financing mechanism for the nature conservation sector and to implement long-term nature conservation projects and programs.
The Conservation Trust Fund in Mongolia will provide great impetus for protecting biodiversity, scaling up climate change actions in accordance with the Paris Agreement, and achieving the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 22.7% by 2030, as set in the Nationally Determined Contributions of Mongolia.
