Animal tendon-made surgical thread receives WIPO prize
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A professor at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology S.Togs has taken the 1st place in the “Innovative solutions in our life-2015” international contest.
It has been co-organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Intellectual Property Organizations of Mongolia and South Korea.
Ms Togs has received the WIPO’s gold medal and a cash prize for inventing a surgical thread made of animal tendon. This creation has become the best among some 40 innovations.
The product is undergoing industrial test and is expected to go into industry very soon.
Another Mongolian V.Alimaa has taken 10th place in this contest.
