MPs present newly-adopted laws
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Population Development and Social Welfare S.Erdene MP; and S.Odontuya MP delivered a report about newly-adopted laws on social welfare policy.
The 2015/2016 autumn session of parliament discussed and passed the laws on children’s rights, on protection for children, on people with disabilities and on fund for future pension.
The law on the right for people with disabilities ensures rights of 110 thousand such people, the Minister said, and spoke his worry about an increase of the number of people with disabilities due to industrial and traffic accidents. Discrimination against the disabled is fully forbidden under the law, and a legal protection has been created for them to prevent from any forms of the discrimination, he said.
When talking about the law on the fund for future pension, the Minister pointed out the social insurance fund has accumulated a big amount of money in accordance with a governmental resolution, therefore pensioners will receive the benefits normally.
S.Erdene also informed that the cabinet has decided to reduce the 8 per cent interest of mortgage loan to five per cent, and relevant measures will be taken in several phases.
S.Odontuya MP said the laws on the children’s rights and on protection for children have created a legal landscape for brining services for children’s protection into international standards. All forms of violence against children are forbidden by the laws, she said.
