President holds breakfast meeting with women

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On occasion of the International Women’s Day, the President Ts.Elbegdorj attended the annual breakfast meeting with representatives of women’s NGOs on Tuesday.

Co-organized by the President’s Office and the “Monfenet” national network for Mongolian women, the “Through women’s eyes” forum was held under a theme “Through women’s eyes: Existence of civil society” within the event. The forum’s attendees had breakfast with the President, exchanging views on women’s position over issues discussed at the forum.

The forum brought together some 300 delegates from women’s and human rights and other areas’ institutions, groups, NGOs, scholars, researchers, media, individuals and local residents. They reviewed matters on civil role and effects, and civil society institutions in formation of the human, civil and democratic society defined in the Constitution of Mongolia, the legal landscape of ensuring the civil society development and financing system.

Present at the breakfast meeting were Ch.Onorbayar, an advisor to the President on human rights and legal policy; A.Ganbaatar, an advisor to the President on public relations; B.Nergui, a deputy head of the Presidential Office; and P.Sainbileg, head of the Media Service.
