Mongolia at OSCE “Connectivity: Commerce and Investment” Conference
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A delegation headed by H.E. Ts.Bolor, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Germany, participated in the OSCE Conference on “Connectivity: Commerce and Investment” on May 18 and 19. The business conference was initiated by the Government of Germany as Germany’s Chairmanship program in 2016.
The conference was also attended by Mr L.Dashdorj, Advisor to the President of Mongolia and Ms A.Ariunaa, Deputy Director of the Department of economic cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.
Around 1000 delegates representing the public and private sectors from 57 members of the OSCE took part in the conference as it was the first major OSCE conference for private sector participants. Chairperson-in-office, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, Mr.Frank-Walter Steinmeier opened the conference and stressed that the aim of the conference is to contribute to both economic opportunities and broader political confidence-building.
Germany is emphasizing on the intensification of business relations among OSCE members and improvement of cross-border trade and transport during its OSCE Chairmanship in 2016.
In relation to that, Ambassador Ts.Bolor informed participants about the “Asia Europe Business Forum”, taking place on July 13-14 in Ulaanbaatar and invited the private sector delegates to partake. The business forum will be organized just ahead of the ASEM Summit, and more than 600 delegates are expected to consider “Asia Europe Connectivity” among many other agendas, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
