Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations, Embassy of the United States, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with Arts Council of Mongolia has invited the world-class cello rock band “Break of Reality” to Mongolia. The band will collaborate with Mongolian State Morin Khuur Ensemble, performing a joint “Sounds from East & West” concert at the State Opera and Ballet Theater on January 27, 2017.

During their visit, the Break of Reality ensemble will also offer public concerts, interactive performances with local musicians and jam sessions for diverse audiences.

Break of Reality’s signature cello rock sound has bridged the gap between the world with its mixture of classics and rock. Having sold out concerts in North America, South America, Europe and Asia, Break of Reality is regarded as one of the world’s premiere “alt-classical” chamber ensembles. Since its formation in 2003 at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, the band has reached millions of followers via platforms like Spotify and Pandora Radio, and the group’s rendition of the Game of Thrones theme has more than 12 million views on YouTube.

In addition to performing and recording, Break of Reality is dedicated to educational initiatives through music. The group has visited hundreds of public schools around the world, performing alongside music students and encouraging them to put their classical instruments to unique creative use.

The American Music Abroad program engages with people around the world by sharing American music and giving overseas audiences the chance to interact directly with American artists. Ensembles are selected through an open competition on the basis of artistic quality and commitment to education and cultural engagement.
