Annual traditional festival expected before Lunar New Year

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ “Ekh Undarga” traditional cultural festival is being held at the Central Cultural Palace of the Mongolian Trade Unions on February 17-19, with an aim to present the wonders of Mongolian ethnic arts.

The festival became an annual event since 2012 to be organized every year just before the Tsagaan sar, the Mongolian Lunar New Year. The Husugtun, Jonon, Ikh Mongol, Khemnel, Nuudelchid and Domog, the ballad groups that have been promoting Mongolian ethnic music on the world stages, are taking part in the festival.

The festival is gathering over 300 artists, including musicians, dancers, long song and throat singing artists. State Honored Cultural Figure D.Sosorbaram is directing the festival.

The ticker prices range from MNT 25 000 up to MNT 50 000 depending on the seat location. Tickets are being sold through the Palace cashier and ticket.mn.
