Asia’s young democracy leaders convene in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Leaders Advancing Democracy (LEAD) Alliance Conference was organized by the International Republican Institute (IRI) in Ulaanbaatar.
Funded by the United State's Agency for International Development (USAID), the four-day program brought together 37 Mongolian youths who selected in LEAD program with their counterparts from Burma, Bhutan, and Kyrgyzstan to broaden their knowledge about democratic transition of Mongolia, to attend in trainings on impact campaign and project management and to create regional network with peer activists.
Participants of the conference selected from their region are paving the way for the next generation leaders to develop personally and professionally and are strengthening connection between nations, emphasized Jessica Keegan, IRI Resident Program Director in Mongolia.
Initiated by the USAID, LEAD program launched in September, 2016 and will run for two year. Purpose of the program is to provide opportunity for youths between the ages of 25 and 40 to make sustainable changes in the society, to develop their leadership skills and to share experiences of Mongolia’s transition to democracy in the region.
