20 km long truck queue formed again in Gashuunsukhait border crossing

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ As of today, a huge amount of coal have been piled at Tsagaan Khad customs’ control zone and a 20-25 km long queue of trucks have been formed in routes from the mine sites to customs’ control zone and Gashuunsukhait border crossing.
On April 2, Road and Transportation Development Minister J.Bat-Erdene held a meeting with authorities of the General Authority for Border Protection, Customs General Administration, Erdenes Tavantolgoi JSC, Tavan Tolgoi JSC, Energy Resource LLC, Gashuunsukhait Auto Road LLC to resolve problems arisen in coal transportation at Gashuunsukhait border crossing of Umnugobi aimag.
At the meeting, the Minister gave some instructions and assignments to relevant organizations. Concerning the implementation of the government resolution #320 in 2017 on some actions for coal transportation, the Minister also heard opinions of authorities of the customs and border organizations and coal mines on negative and positive sides and present conditions in transporting coal.
The Minister instructed authorities of the National Auto Transportation Center and coal mines to establish a contract of transportation and issue a permit ‘C’ in coordination with coal loads at mines, the number of trucks crossing the border checkpoint and the volume of coal to be exported.
