Mongolia elected UNESCO intergovernmental committee vice chair
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 15th regular session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expression was held online on February 8-11. National coordinator of the convention N.Munkhzul participated in the session as rapporteur.
During the session, Mongolia
has been elected as a Vice Chairperson of 16th session of the Intergovernmental Committee, which will be held in Paris, France on February 7-10, 2023.
Representatives from civil
society organizations and small- and medium-sized cultural and creative enterprises
took part in the session to discuss improvement of mechanism for supporting
their participation.
The committee approved its
2022-2023 action plan, which includes measures to support artists’ social and
economic statues and women artists, ensure gender equality, support cultural
expression, and increase the participation of civil society and the private
sector.
