Orkhon aimag to implement waste management improvement program

Orkhon /MONTSAME/ Orkhon aimag will implement a program to improve waste management.
The program is aimed at raising public awareness on waste issues, and promoting source separation, collecting and recycling of waste. Moreover, waste transport system, waste management infrastructure, and the financing system will be strengthened as part of the project.
There are plans to provide waste collection more often and build a waste recycling plant.
840 cubic meters of waste on average is daily transported to a central landfill in Erdenet city, meaning the city generates 127 thousand cubic meters of industrial and household waste a year.
