President receives UN General-Secretary

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. President U.Khurelsukh today has
received UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who is paying an official
visit to Mongolia.
At the meeting, President U.Khurelsukh thanked the United
Nations for its valuable contribution to the socioeconomic development of
Mongolia, while emphasizing the country’s effective cooperation with the
organization in the areas of strengthening democracy and good governance,
improving legal environment, ensuring human rights, reducing poverty,
protecting the health of mothers and children, protecting the environment, and
promoting sustainable development.
Expressing his pleasure to visit Mongolia – a symbol of
peace, Secretary-General António Guterres highly praised Mongolia's
contribution to efforts in strengthening international peace and security, particularly
ensuring nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation, as well as stability on the
Korean Peninsula.
He also commended Mongolia’s ‘One Billion Trees’ national
movement, and said that the United Nations would continue to support the
country to achieve its socioeconomic objectives and SDGs.
