Chairman of The State Great Khural Receives U.S Under Secretary

Ulaanbaatar, February 9, 2023 /MONTSAME/. The Chairman of the State Great Khural of
Mongolia G. Zandanshatar received Under Secretary of State for Civilian
Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Uzra Zeya on February 7.
State Great Khural Chairman expressed his
satisfaction with our partnership relations with the USA, our important third
neighbor and trusted partner, and the continuous development of our two
countries' cooperation. He underscored that our shared values of democracy,
free market, rule of law, and human rights had laid a firm foundation for
advancing the two countries’ relations to the Strategic Partnership.
The Under Secretary Uzra Zeya underscored U.S.
appreciation of Mongolia’s role as a democratic leader in the region. “The USA
assumed the 2023 Chairship of the Freedom Online Coalition. I hope Mongolia
would amplify its voice and interests regionally and make positive impacts as
Mongolia has a legacy of respecting human rights, freedom, justice, and
national unity.” she continued.
At the end of the meeting, the parties
exchanged views on issues on international geopolitical tensions, possibilities
to expand the trade ties between our two countries, and improving the legal
environment of religious freedom.
