Prime Minister Paid a Courtesy Call on President of Korea

Ulaanbaatar, February 16, 2023 /MONTSAME/. Prime Minister of Mongolia L. Oyun-Erdene
paid a courtesy call on President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prime
Minister L. Oyun-Erdene conveyed warm greetings of the President of Mongolia
Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, and handed the President’s invitation that invites
President Yoon Suk Yeol to visit Mongolia at his convenience. Prime Minister L.
Oyun-Erdene highlighted that the visit was of utmost significance in a way that
it reinforced the Strategic Partnership relations and multilateral cooperation,
strengthened the political ties, and supported the people-to-people
exchanges.
For his side, President of the Republic of
Korea Yoon Suk Yeol favorably accepted President U. Khurelsukh’s invitation and
asked to convey his greetings to him. While emphasizing the high significance
that the Government of the Republic of Korea is attaching to its relations and
cooperation based on the shared values of democracy, human rights, and freedom
with Mongolia, he expressed his willingness to strengthen the Strategic
Partnership relations between our two countries, advance the economic
cooperation to the new level and support the people-to-people exchange, in
particular children and youth exchanges.
The sides reaffirmed their commitment to develop and
deepen the cooperation within the framework of the UN and other international
organizations. President Yoon Suk Yeol expressed his gratitude to
Mongolia for expressing its support for Korea’s candidature to host the “World
Expo – 2030.”
In addition, the sides noted the importance of the
concerted efforts of our two countries to secure and ensure stability on the
Korean Peninsula and peace and security in Northeast Asia. Then, the Korean
side reaffirmed its consistent support for Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast
Asian Security.
Agreeing on the fact that
the free movement of citizens is one of the main leverages to expand the
cooperation between our two countries and strengthen the friendship of the
people, the two sides emphasized the importance of the cooperation between
relevant organizations of the two sides in easing the visa requirements and
reaching an agreement on mutual visa exemption.
