Chairman Zandanshatar Receives Czech Minister of Labour and Social Affairs

Ulaanbaatar, November 3, 2023 /MONTSAME/. On November 1, 2023, Speaker of the Parliament Zandanshatar Gombojav received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic Marian Jurečka. 


At the outset of the Meeting, Speaker Gombojav expressed his satisfaction with the progress of traditional friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Czech Republic, as well as the rich and historic bilateral relations that have been developing in many fields for over 70 years.

  

The Speaker of Parliament said, "The cooperation between the highest legislative bodies of Mongolia and the Czech Republic is considered to play an important role in expanding relations and cooperation between the two countries. Our two countries have a resolution of the democratic parliament, and in 2019, a delegation headed by the Senate President of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Mr. Jaroslav Kubera, paid an Official Visit to our country." He also said that he met with Mr. Tomáš Zdechovský, Head of Delegation of the European Parliament and Chairman of the Central Asian and Mongolian Relations Group, at the 16th consultative meeting between the Parliament of Mongolia and the European Parliament. They exchanged experiences on strengthening human rights and parliamentary democracy together. During Minister Marian Jurečka's Visit to Mongolia, the two countries organized the eighth session of the Joint Intergovernmental Committee and the Business Forum.


Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic Marian Jurečka thanked the Speaker of the Parliament for meeting with him and expressed his appreciation for the decades of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries and for the importance of expanding bilateral relations. The 16th consultation meeting between the Parliament of Mongolia and the European Parliament, which took place within the framework of this visit, and the meeting between the two Governments could yield tangible results. The issue of establishing a Social Security agreement between our two countries, which has been discussed for years at the intergovernmental level, has finally been resolved and has yielded concrete results. More than 12,000 Mongolian citizens are currently working and residing in the Czech Republic, and the two sides have agreed to increase this number starting next year. During the meeting, the Speaker of the Parliament emphasized his appreciation for the contribution of Deputy Prime Minister Jurečka in strengthening parliamentary democracy.


The two parties affirmed that the foundation of relations and cooperation between the two countries is the relationship between their citizens and concurred that the Agreement on Social Security will be a major step forward in bilateral relations and cooperation.
