Mongolia Earns 101 Medals at the 10th International Children’s Sports Games

Ulaanbaatar, August 12, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Mongolia successfully hosted the 10th International Children’s Sports Games “Ulaanbaatar 2024” on August 6-10, 2024.


A total of 460 athletes from Mongolia, the Russian Federation, and the People’s Republic of China competed in nine sports competitions at the Games. Mongolia topped the medal tally at the Games with 35 gold, 34 silver, and 32 bronze medals, for a total of 101 medals. China followed with 23 gold, 12 silver, and 26 bronze medals, totaling 61 medals, while Russia earned eight gold, 20 silver, and 25 bronze medals.


The youngest participant of the 10th International Children's Sports Games was 13-year-old tennis player B. Bolor-Egshiglen. She is the younger sister of B. Bolor-Erdene, an International Master of Sports who represented Mongolia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The highlight of the "Ulaanbaatar 2024," hosted in Mongolia for the fourth time, was the performance of traditional Mongol wrestling and archery.


The 11th International Children’s Sports Games will be held in 2025 in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.
