Meet the Mongolian Judokas to Compete at the Tokyo 2024 Grand Slam
SocietyUlaanbaatar, December 4, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The highly anticipated Tokyo Grand Slam 2024 is just around the corner, scheduled for December 7-8, 2024. The World Judo Tour makes its final stop of 2024, ending the year in Tokyo, Japan, the homeland of judo.
A total of 286 judoka from 47 nations will cap off the Paris 2024 Olympic year in spectacular fashion at the prestigious Tokyo Grand Slam, hosted in the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.
Under the guidance of Mongolia's Senior Coaches, Erdenebayar Uuganbayar and Bundmaa Munkhbaatar, a team of nine male and 11 female judokas will visit the Land of the Rising Sun to compete in the final Grand Slam of 2024. This marks Coach Erdenebayar’s first international tournament as the Senior Coach of the Mongolian National Judo Team since taking on the role.

As a side note, Mongolian senior judokas have claimed five gold, five silver, and 13 bronze medals in 2024, including one silver medal at the Olympics, one gold and one bronze at the World Championships, three gold, three silver, and five bronze at the Asian Championships, one gold, one silver, and five bronze at the Grand Slam, and two bronze medals at the Grand Prix.
