Mongolian Athletes Improve Their Rankings by 36-78 Positions

Ulaanbaatar, December 17, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The International Judo Federation updated its final rankings for 2024 following the Grand Slam 2024 held in Tokyo, Japan.


According to the new rankings:


Women’s Categories:


  • In the 48 kg category, Honored Athlete of Mongolia B. Baasankhuu leads, while G. Narantsetseg ranks 15th. Master of Sports J. Anudari climbed 37 positions to secure 65th place.
  • In the 52 kg category, L. Sosorbaram dropped by one position.
  • In the 57 kg category, the top 15 rankings remained unchanged, including Honored Athlete of Mongolia L. Enkhrilen. T. Ariunzaya advanced 78 positions to rank 65th, while O. Oyunchimeg moved up 36 places to enter the Top 100.
  • In the 63 kg category, B. Gankhaich ranked 29th.
  • In the 70 kg category, B. Nyam-Erdene placed 44th, and S. Lkhagvadulam ranked 100th.
  • In the -78 kg category, O. Khuslen secured 24th place.
  • In the +78 kg category, A. Adiyasuren ranked 25th, and D. Nominzul placed 40th.


Men’s Categories:


  • E. Ariunbold ranked 27th.
  • Ts. Byambaa-Ochir and E. Sumyabazar shared 60th place.
  • K. Yolk climbed 78 positions following the Grand Slam 2024, ranking 80th and entering the Top 100.
  • N. Mendsaikhan placed 91st.
  • In the 66 kg category, Honored Athlete of Mongolia Yo. Baskhuu ranked 4th, while B. Erkhembayar dropped two positions to 11th place.
  • In the 73 kg category, B. Erdenebayar ranked 17th, Ts. Tsogtbaatar 42nd, L. Ankhzaya 44th, O. Uranbayar 93rd, and J. Enkhtur placed 98th.
  • In the 81 kg category, G. Bolor-Ochir ranked 34th.
  • In the 90 kg category, G. Altanbagana placed 38th.
  • In the -100 kg category, B. Gonchigsuren secured 17th place, and A. Enkhbayar ranked 99th.
  • In the +100 kg category, O. Tsetsentsengel ranked 24th.


As a side note, the International Judo Federation is currently selecting the best male and female judoka of 2024, the best ippon victory, and the event of the year. From Mongolia, B. Baasankhuu has been nominated for the “2024 Event of the Year” award.
