Ulaanbaatar, April 18, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The World Economic Forum has announced Young Global Leaders of 2025.
In this year's YGL list, 115 outstanding leaders from around 50 countries have been selected for their bold ideas, breakthrough innovations, and unwavering commitment to positive global change, setting new heights in leadership. Among them is Orchlon Enkhtsetseg, Founder and Director of “URECA”, an entrepreneurial company that helps organizations verify their carbon reductions and gain access to climate financing in a transparent and credible way.
In an era marked by climate change, geopolitical instability, and rapid technological advancement, the world demands a new kind of leadership, one that prioritizes collaboration over competition, long-term vision over short-term gains, and encourages thinking and creating together.
The Forum of Young Global Leaders was established to nurture such leadership by creating a diverse, intergenerational community of changemakers redefining what it means to lead. Its goal is to address global challenges and create a meaningful societal impact by uniting accomplished young leaders from social, political, business, economic, and educational sectors, as well as non-governmental organizations. Eligible leaders are typically under the age of 40 and are selected based on their achievements, success in their respective fields, and the measurable societal impact of their work.
Over the next three years, these young global leaders will embark on a tailored leadership journey that includes academic modules with world-class institutions, immersive learning experiences, and global conventions aligned with the World Economic Forum’s mission.
The Forum of Young Global Leaders is a non-profit organization founded to shape the future by bringing together emerging leaders. This organization was launched in 1992 by Founder of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab, under the name "Global Leaders of Tomorrow," which was changed to "Young Global Leaders" in 2003.
Schwab established the Forum using a USD 1 million prize awarded by the “Dan David” Prize. The first group of 237 young leaders of the YGL was formed in 2005, and since then, 1,400 leaders have been included.
URECA is a start-up company dedicated to driving innovation to combat climate change. The company offers consultations to enterprises in verifying and pricing energy generated from renewable energy sources and calculating and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It also provides intermediary services to connect project implementers for greenhouse gas reduction with carbon credit buyers. Carbon credit allows a country or organization to produce a certain amount of carbon emissions, which can be traded if the full allowance is not used. One carbon credit is equivalent to one ton of carbon dioxide emissions. Verified credits can be traded both domestically and internationally, allowing organizations to financially benefit from their climate-positive actions.
URECA, which stands for Universal Renewable Energy Certificate Accreditor, was inspired by the Greek exclamation "Eureka," meaning "I have found it!"
