Ulaanbaatar, November 26, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Mongolia, the annual Mongolian Citizenship Oath Ceremony, held every November 26, took place today at the State Palace.
Prime Minister Zandanshatar Gombojav attended the ceremony, congratulated the 16-year-old participants, and delivered remarks. He stated, “On this historic day in 1924, Mongolia chose the path of freedom, independence, and justice, making a historic decision to determine its own destiny and proclaim the Republic. Today also marks the anniversary of the adoption of the First Constitution. You are the generation that will carry forward this historic choice. Becoming a citizen of Mongolia is not merely about receiving an ID card. It is an oath and commitment to carry the name ‘Mongolian’ in your heart. You are Mongolia’s new hope.”
The Mongolian Citizenship Oath Ceremony was organized for the 23rd year. This year, 63,137 children nationwide are turning 16, and a representative group of 850 of them took part in the ceremony. The event aims to foster patriotism, integrity, and pride in national history and culture among youth who reach the age of 16 and receive their national ID cards.
