Photo and arts exhibitions launch to mark anniversary of Mongolia-China diplomatic ties
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Mongolia and China marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations this year. Celebrating the jubilee, a series of humanitarian and cultural events under the theme “Feel China” is being organized in Ulaanbaatar from September 2 to 9 with a view to strengthen mutual understanding between the peoples of Mongolia and China and reinforce the traditional friendly ties.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Khalkhiin Gol Battles, a photo exhibition “Two nations – One victory” opened at the Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery in Ulaanbaatar on September 2. The exhibition is being co-organized by MONTSAME Mongolian National News Agency and Sputnik news agency and radio broadcaster of the Russian news agency Rossiya Segodnya.

Hans-Joachim Fuchtel, Parliamentary State Secretary of Germany’s Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, who is paying a visit to Mongolia took part in the opening ceremony of new academic year of the Mongolian University of Life Sciences on August 30. Auto road Tavantolgoi-Gashuunsukhait repaired
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh previously gave an order to improve road signs along the Tavantolgoi-Gashuunsukhait auto road and create proper rest areas for long-distance truck drivers. In this connection, the repair work of 239 km long auto road with a heavy load carrying capacity from Tavantolgoi deposits to Gashuunsukhait port is completed and was commissioned.

‘Russian Knights’ perform in Ulaanbaatar celebrating Khalkhiin Gol Battle anniversary

On August 28, an aerial show by the aerobatic demonstration team of the 234th Guards Aviation Regiment of the Russian Air Force was held at the Khui Doloon Khudag in Ulaanbaata. The performance was part of many events planned for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Khalkhiin Gol Battle, which took place from May 11 to September 16, 1939.

Maximum number of alternative military personnel set

Some lands in Ulaanbaatar taken as state special-use lands
 On August 28, the Cabinet decided to acquire a 10 ha land in Baganuur District of Ulaanbaatar under state special use in order to build a hazardous waste facility as well as take the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Songinokhairkhan District and 22 ha land around ash handling tank of the Thermal Power Plant 4 to treat and bury sewage sludge. Their position of a geographic location, size and boundaries were also redefined.

Flood-affected children from Siberia return home after month-long stay in Mongolia
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. From July 16 to August 25, summer camps in Mongolia received a total of 42 children from Russia's flood-hit towns of the Irkutsk Oblast, Nizhneudinsk and Tulun. On August 25, the children returned home after staying at the Nairamdal international summer camp and Selenge camp of the Erdenet Mining Corporation for more than a month.
