State Secretary of Foreign Ministry meets Japanese Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On February 28, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren met with  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Kobayashi Hiroyuki. 


Highlighting the growing ties between Mongolia and Japan at a level of Strategic Partnership, State Secretary Davaasuren noted the importance of intensifying economic, trade and investment relations, especially the implementation of the economic partnership agreement. The sides also exchanged opinions on regional and international issues of mutual concerns. 


As the high level mutual visits play significant roles in developing mutual ties, State Secretary Davaasuren pointed out the roles of a visit by Mongolian Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh to Japan in December 2018 and reciprocal visits of foreign ministers in Mongolia and Japan in the economic and trade relationship growth. 


Ambassador Kobayashi Hiroyuki said that it is his third appointment to Mongolia and expressed his willingness to focus on expanding trade and investment within the Mongolian-Japanese Strategic Partnership and increasing the volume of Mongolian exports to Japan. 


As the two nations will celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2022, the sides also agreed on commencing the preparatory works for the historic event ahead of time.
