Mongolia participates in 7th ASEM Economic Ministers’ Meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg led the Mongolian delegation at the ASEM Economic Ministers’ Meeting held on September 21-22 in South Korea.
The 7th Asia-Europe Economic Ministers’ Meeting convened under the theme ‘Innovative Partnership for Inclusive Growth’ in the South Korean capital after 12 years since the last meeting.
Attended by delegates from 21 Asian and 30 European countries, the European Union and ASEAN, the meeting addressed timely issues such as simplification of trade and investment, strengthening of trade connectivity and promotion of sustainable and accessible economic development.
Side events such as the 14th Asia Europe Economic Forum, the 2nd ASEF Young Leaders Summit and ASEIC Global Eco-Innovation Forum were held in conjunction with the 7th Economic Ministers’ Meeting, as a result of which documents titled Joint Statement of the Economic Ministers and ‘Seoul Initiative’ were adopted.
In 2016, Mongolia hosted the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) high-level summit and more than 10 side meetings including the 15th Asia-Europe Business Forum, the 11th Asia-Europe People’s Forum and the 12th Asia-Europe Finance Ministers’ Meeting.
