State Secretary of Foreign Ministry meets German Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On March 13, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia D.Davaasuren received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mongolia Jörn Rosenberg. 


After introducing about measures that were put in place by the government of Mongolia to prevent novel coronavirus outbreak, Mr. Davaasuren noted that due to the current suspension of flights to and from Mongolia, the government is working to arrange charter flight to Germany to bring back Mongolian nationals living there who have reasonable excuses or whose short-term visa is about to expire, in accordance with the State Emergency Commission decision of March 10.


Secretary of State Davaansuren asked support from the German side on having the Mongolian nationals to be evacuated tested for coronavirus as demanded by the State Emergency Commission and Ministry of Health of Mongolia. He then expressed appreciation for Germany for their cooperation on settling the issues faced by Mongolian citizens in Germany, who need visa renewal.


In turn, Ambassador Jörn Rosenberg informed about Germany’s efforts against the COVID-19 outbreak within recommendations by the World Health Organization. He also pledged to forward the requests made by Mongolia regarding the charter flight to Berlin to corresponding German authorities in a timely manner.
