Bank of Mongolia Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with the National Bank of Kazakhstan

Ulaanbaatar, April 22, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Within the framework of the State Visit of President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Bank of Mongolia and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on April 21, 2026.


The memorandum establishes a long-term foundation for strengthening cooperation between the two countries’ central banks, facilitating the exchange of information and experience related to monetary policy, financial stability, and the development of banking and financial markets. Under the framework of cooperation, the parties will conduct consultations at the leadership level, exchange specialists, organize training programs, and carry out joint research on mutually agreed topics.


The memorandum is of significant importance in deepening mutual trust between Mongolia and Kazakhstan in the banking and financial sector, while also contributing to the expansion of financial cooperation at the regional level.


The Bank of Mongolia will continue to actively expand cooperation with international and regional central banks and consistently implement measures aimed at strengthening financial stability.


The central banks of Mongolia and the Republic of Kazakhstan have maintained continuous cooperation since 1992 under arrangements governing trade and economic settlements and account management procedures. This memorandum elevates bilateral cooperation to a new stage.
