Mongolia, Kazakhstan Sign 18 Cooperation Documents in Various Fields

Ulaanbaatar, April 22, 2026 /MONTSAME/. As part of the State Visit of President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa to the Republic of Kazakhstan, 18 intergovernmental and inter-agency documents related to expanding bilateral relations and cooperation were signed.
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Economy
and Development of Mongolia and the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the
Republic of Kazakhstan on Promoting Trade and Economic Cooperation was signed by First Deputy Prime
Minister of Mongolia and Minister of Economy and Development Enkhbayar Jadamba
and Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman
Shakkaliyev.
The document will create opportunities to diversify trade structure, increase the share of value-added products, gradually reduce non-tariff barriers, simplify customs procedures, and improve transport infrastructure. - Action Plan for Cooperation between Mongolia and the
Republic of Kazakhstan in the Fields of Culture, Youth Policy, Sports and
Tourism for 2026–2027
was signed by Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia Aldarjavkhlan
Jukov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information of the
Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva, and Minister of Tourism and Sports of the
Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Myrzabossynov.
The sides will organize specific cooperative activities, including reciprocal exhibitions, joint research, support ties between youth organizations, open policy discussions, and development of joint tourism routes featuring nomadic culture. - Memorandum of Understanding between the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
the Republic of Kazakhstan on Further Developing Cooperation was signed by Minister of Foreign
Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the
Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Kosherbayev.
The sides will strengthen relations through expanded political dialogue, consultations, information exchange, and cooperation within international and regional organizations. - Memorandum of Understanding between the
Bank of Mongolia and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan was signed by Governor of the Bank of
Mongolia Narantsogt Sanjaa and Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan
Timur Suleimenov.
The agreement establishes a legal basis for long-term stable cooperation in financial market development. - Memorandum of Understanding between the
Ministry of Finance of Mongolia and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of
Kazakhstan on Cooperation
was signed by Minister of Finance of Mongolia Mendsaikhan Zagdjav and Minister
of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Madi Takiyev.
The sides will exchange experience in public financial management, budget planning, taxation, treasury reform, and green finance. - Memorandum between the Ministry of
Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia and the Ministry of Energy of the
Republic of Kazakhstan on Cooperation in the Petroleum Sector was signed by Minister of Industry and
Mineral Resources of Mongolia Damdinnyam Gongor and Minister of Energy of the
Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Akkenzhenov.
The sides will cooperate in oil exploration, production, petroleum product supply, logistics, and refining. Kazakhstan will also work toward stable long-term supplies of crude oil, gasoline, and diesel fuel. - Memorandum of Understanding between
Erdenes Mongol LLC and Samruk-Kazyna JSC was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of Erdenes Mongol, Davaadalai
Batsuuri, and the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board of
Samruk-Kazyna, Nurlan Zhakupov.
The sides will cooperate in mining, mineral resources, critical minerals, processing, and corporate governance. - Memorandum of Understanding between the
Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia and the Nuclear Energy
Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy was signed by Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Kazakhstan Batjargal Gunaajav and Chairman
of the Nuclear Energy Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almassadam
Satkaliyev.
The sides will cooperate in geological surveys, exploration, processing, specialist training, sustainable mineral management, environmental protection, and safety. - Memorandum of Understanding between the
Governor’s Office of Kharkhorum City of Mongolia and the Akimat of Astana of
the Republic of Kazakhstan
was signed by the Governor of Kharkhorum City, Khaltar L., and the Akim of Astana Zhenis
Kassymbek.
The sides will cooperate in urban relations, planning, development, governance, investment attraction, and smart sustainable green development. - Memorandum of Understanding between the
Governor’s Office of Kharkhorum City of Mongolia and the Akimat of Alatau of
the Republic of Kazakhstan
was signed by the Governor of Kharkhorum City, Khaltar L., and the Akim of Alatau, Arken
Utenov.
Cooperation will cover infrastructure connectivity, urban economy, public-private partnerships, engineering infrastructure, renewable energy, AI-based systems, culture, tourism, logistics, social infrastructure, and housing. - Memorandum of Cooperation and Mutual
Understanding between Mongolian National Public Radio and Television and the
Presidential Television and Radio Complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan was signed by Director of Mongolian
National Public Radio and Television Gerel G. and Director of the Television
and Radio Complex of Kazakhstan Rauan Kajibayeva.
The sides will cooperate in promoting history, society, and culture, exchanging current affairs information, documentary and feature films, television programs, and strengthening human resources and technical capacity. - Memorandum on Cooperation in Science
between the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences
under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was signed by President of the
Mongolian Academy of Sciences Demberel Sodnomsambuu, and President of the
National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kurishbayev.
The sides will expand research cooperation in ecology, desertification, climate change, geology, and remote sensing. - Memorandum of Understanding between the
Institute of International Studies under the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and
the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the
Republic of Kazakhstan
was signed by Director of the Institute of International Studies Zolboo Dashnyam
and Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies Zhandos
Shaimardanov.
The sides will conduct joint research in international relations, security, and policy studies. - Memorandum of Understanding and
Cooperation between the Chinggis Khaan National Museum of Mongolia and the
Chokan Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology under the Committee of
Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of
Kazakhstan was
signed by the Director of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, Chuluun Sampildondov, and the Director of the Chokan Valikhanov Institute, Z. Kabuldinov.
The sides will intensify studies of nomadic history and undertake joint academic works. - Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation
between Nalaikh District of Mongolia and the City of Taldykorgan of the
Republic of Kazakhstan
was signed on behalf of Nalaikh District by Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary Batjargal Gunaajav, and Akim of Taldykorgan Yernat Bazil.
The document will strengthen friendly relations and expand cooperation in socio-economic and cultural sectors. - Chambers of
commerce and non-governmental organizations also signed cooperation documents.
- Memorandum of Cooperation between the
Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and QazTrade Trade Policy
Development Center JSC
was signed to promote potential export goods and services and facilitate access
to third-country markets.
- The Mongolian Youth Federation and the Youth Congress of Kazakhstan agreed to strengthen cooperation and support joint initiatives in culture, arts, tourism, education, health, and youth entrepreneurship.
Currently, more than 60 treaties and agreements regulating relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Kazakhstan are in force.
