Births decline
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first quarter of this year, 19,043 mothers delivered 19,141 children (live births), showing a decreased of 598 mothers or 3.0% and by 294 children or 4.2% compared to same period of the previous year.
The mortality rate reached 4,146 in first quarter of 2016, increasing by 69 or 1.7% against the previous year. In this period, the birth rate per 1,000 people was 6.4, the mortality per 1,000 people--1.4, and the net growth of population per 1,000 people--5.0.
The births per 1,000 people declined by 0.3 units in the first quarter, while the average population growth--by 0.3 units, and the mortality rate was stable against the previous year.
The birth rate per 1,000 people was higher than the national average by 0.8 units in UB, by 0.6 units in Bayan-Olgii aimag, by 0.6 units--in Khovd aimag, and by 0.3 units--in Dornod aimag, whereas it was lower than the national average by 0.1--in Gobisumber, by 0.2--in Orkhon, by 0.5--in Khovsgol, Dornogobi, Omnogobi, by 0.6--in Ovorkhangai, Sukhbaatar, by 0.7--in Bayankhongor, Dundgobi, by 1.0--in Khentii, by 1.1--in Zavkhan, Gobi-Altai, by 1.3%--in Arkhangai, by 1.9%--in Selenge, by 2.7--in Bulgan, and by 3.1% in Tov aimag. It was stable in Darkhan-Uul aimag.
