Foreign Minister congratulates Venice Biennale and documenta 14 artists

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a ceremony on April 21, Friday to congratulate Mongolian artists to take part in the 57th Venice Biennale and 14th documenta exhibition.

“I am pleased that Mongolian artists are participating again in the Venice Biennale which is the Olympics of modern fine arts”, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Ts.Munkh-Orgil who is a national commissary at the Venice Biennnale this year. He also expressed his gratitude towards the sponsors of the artists who were in attendance.

The second Mongolia Pavilion at the Biennale will present 5 artists – Sh.Chimeddorj, O.Enkhtaivan, G.Munkhbolor, J.Bolortuvshin and Ts.Davaajargal, with addition of Yo.Dalkh-Ochir as a curator.

As for the 14th edition of documenta which is known as the ‘museum of 100 days’, Mongolian works ‘A Day in Mongolia’ and ‘Winter Palace’ have been invited and artists Ts.Ariuntugs and B.Nomin will represent Mongolia.
In 2015, the first ever Mongolia Pavilion was set up at the Venice Biennale featuring artists Unen Enkh and Enkhbold Togmidshiirev.
