Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A children’s hospital with 50 beds will be built in Nalaikh, a remote district of Ulaanbaatar with a grant of ‘Khangardi-Ulaanbaatar’ NGO and Peace and Friendship Fund of the People’s Republic of China.  The foundation-laying ceremony of the hospital was held on April 28.
Nalaikh district has a population of 36 thousand and children aged 0-15 years old make 32 per cent of the total population as the number of newborns increase by 900 annually.
The district Governor put a goal in his action plan to make medical aids and services accessible to every citizen equally and within this goal, the specialized hospital will be operational in October of this year.
The Children’s Department of the Medical Center of Nalaikh hospitalized 1447 children last year and around 20-30 children receive medical aid every day. The new hospital will be fully equipped with modern diagnostic facilities and expected to improve medical treatment capability and capacity, lowering burdens to parents and children to send them to Ulaanbaatar.
