Firefighters put out 16 wildfires completely

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ 16 wildfires burning in several aimags were fully put out, reports the National Emergency Management Agency in a latest update on wildfire situation.
In specific, a wildfire in Selenge soum and a wildfire in Gurvanbulag soum of Bulgan aimag, 4 wildfires in Yuruu soum, 2 wildfires in Khuder soum of Selenge aimag, 6 wildfires in Batsumber soum and a wildfire in Erdene soum of Tuv aimag and a wildfire in Malchin soum of Uvs aimag have been put out by firefighters.
As of today, 3 wildfires are burning in Mandal soum of Selenge aimag. Backfiring operations are running effectively against wildfires in Yuruu and Mandal soums of Selenge aimag and Erdene soum of Tuv aimag, the agency said.
Although the burning wildfires are under control, possible heat wave and increase in wind velocity could increase risks of escalation in the situation, the agency also said.
